Kane County is thrilled to announce the upcoming construction of five new non-motorized watercraft launches along the Fabulous Fox! National Water Trail. These launches are designed to enhance public access to the Fox River for canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts. Construction is expected to begin soon! Check back this spring for updates. The planned locations are as follows:
Carpentersville:
Riverfront Park
East Dundee:
Bartels Park
South Elgin:
SEBA Park
Batavia:
Clark Island Recreational Area
Montgomery:
Montgomery Park
These new launches will be fully accessible kayak launches. These offer greater accessibility and inclusivity to those in wheelchairs, those living with disabilities or have mobility challenges, to more easily enter and exit a boat. These launches are designed with the input of adaptive athletes, using the best practices in dock and marina engineering.
